UST & Veterans
Veteran Education Assistance (traditional): Veterans who attend a private university do not qualify under the Hazelwood Act, and the G.I. Bill only applies to those who served in excess of 3 years. This means veterans could have served several tours and not qualify. Also, tuition assistance for veterans attending private institutions has a cap of approximately $22,000. We would like to supplement the transition assistance program provided by the armed forces by celebrating and engaging veterans’ minds and spirits!
UST has been recognized as one of the best schools in the region for veterans. Its former president, Dr. Robert Ivany, retired as a Major General. He advised President Reagan as head of the Army War College. UST has over 5% of its student population with military affiliation.
